About Crawford Street Skin Care Products

Where are your ingredients from?

Crawford Street Skin Care products are made from high-quality plant-based ingredients. We work with a supplier in Toronto who shares the same beliefs we carry when it comes to the quality of ingredients: they should be chemical-free, fair trade, non-gmo, cruelty free, and eco-conscious. While we do our best to source as locally as possible, some of our ingredients come from around the world, in an effort to create the highest quality skin care possible for you.

Are your products vegan?

While many of our products are vegan friendly, some do contain beeswax.

Are your products gluten free?

Our Restorative Beauty Balm contains wheatgerm oil. Aside from that, every other Crawford Street Skin Care product is gluten free.

Do you test on animals?

No, we do not test our products on animals. Crawford Street Skin Care is a cruelty free line.

Are your products scented?

Some Crawford Street Skin Care products have a natural scent derived from essential oils. The fragrance is very subtle, and 100% natural.

Do you use preservatives?

We do use preservatives in our products to ensure their stability and prevent the growth of bacteria. We do not use formaldehyde, formaldehyde derivatives, parabens, methylisothiazolinone, BHA/BHT, or PEG.

How long do the products last?

All of our products have a “use by” after opening timeline, which ranges between six to 12 months. You can find this printed on every single one of our products.

 

Why are your ingredients in Latin?

This is common practice throughout the skin care industry. All ingredients are standardized in the International Nomenclature Cosmetic Ingredient list. All of our ingredients are listed by their INCI name (often in Latin) which are systematic names internationally recognized so that they transcend language. 

 

How do I use your cream deodorant?  

It’s easy! Put a small amount on a clean finger and rub the cream into your arm pit until it is fully absorbed. Lots of people share that they can't imagine touching their armpit to apply deodorant, to which we say, “Don't you wash your armpits with soap in the shower?” 

 

Why don’t you offer a stick version of your deodorant? 

We believe in minimal packaging and often stick deodorants have an excess of packaging that create extra waste. Have you ever noticed that many stick deodorants have only about ⅔ of the tube full? Also, some of the deodorant never makes it out of the tube and is wasted. With cream deodorant in a jar you can use every single bit of product and recycle the jars.

 

If I buy a product and I don’t like it can I return it?

We don’t take returns because of the nature of the products but we do believe that you should love your Crawford Street products, so we have a no hassle refund policy. If you don’t love something just send an email to info@crawfordskincare.com and we will issue a refund.

 

About Using Natural Skin Care Products

How do I know if a product is right for my skin?

Crawford Street Skin Care is made with nourishing, natural ingredients for all skin types. However, some are formulated specifically for dryer or oily skin. If you’re unsure about what skin type you have and what products will work best for your skin, you can email our team at info@crawfordskincare.com and we’ll happily discuss your skin concerns and needs to make custom recommendations.

When trying out a new product, give yourself three to four weeks to observe how the product feels on your skin, and how your skin responds. Products are a treatment, but they’re also experiential. When you feel excited reaching for your skin care, that’s always a good sign!

 

What should I do if I have a reaction?

If you experience a reaction to a new product, like redness or irritation, stop using the product immediately. Sensitivities to certain ingredients are normal. A reaction is your body’s healthy way of expressing that sensitivity. Listen to your body.

When trying new products, especially an entirely new line of products, we recommend doing a small patch test on the inside of your arm. The skin here, like your face, is more sensitive, and therefore a more realistic test before applying a product to your face.

 

Can I switch between products regularly?

Yes! We believe consistency is key for healthy skin, but it’s OK to switch between cleansers and moisturizers depending on your skin’s needs each day and seasonality. Our products are formulated to work interchangeably. 

Just be sure to keep up with your twice-daily cleanser, toner, and moisturizer, as a healthy and consistent skin care routine.

 

Is it OK if I use Crawford Street Skin Care with other non-natural products?

We recommend using as many natural products as possible. That being said, we understand people have personal preferences that might guide them towards other products. You can absolutely use Crawford Street Skin Care products with other skin care lines.

Is it safe to use natural skin care while pregnant or nursing?

Our products are made with 100% natural ingredients. However, there are some natural ingredients that are not recommended during pregnancy. During pregnancy and while breastfeeding, we always recommend discussing what goes on and in your body with your care provider first.

 

Can children use natural products?

Certain products, like our Outdoor Body Spray to repel bugs, Lip Balms, Cleansing Milk, Savon liquid soap, and Body Lotions, are perfectly safe to use on children. The Restorative Beauty Balm is great to use on children’s sensitive skin to protect them from the cold.
